The following programs are either sponsored by or supported by the Lighthouse Community Center. A brief description is provided for each program.
Bully/Tip Hotline (In Development): The bully/tip hotline will be a 24/7 hotline that serve ALL Children K-12 in Alameda County. We are well aware of the ill effects and the feelings of helplessness that children experience from bulling at the hand of their peers. By excepting the responsibility to protect these children of Alameda County from bullying, the Lighthouse Community Center is in the development stages of making this service a reality.
The California Healthy Kids Survey indicates that in Alameda County, one in four students has been a victim of physical violence or Harassment and over 50% of students believe that something negative as been said about their race, religion, sexual orientation, gender or ability.Click the logo button below to find out more.

Transitional Job Development ( In Implementation Stage): Through the use of our David Bohnett Cyber Center we will be offering to the Community classes in skills assessment, transition of skills and resume writing, internet job search techniques and internet job posting Keep an eye open for the start date.
Cyber Center: We have a 3 station cyber center where you can surf the web or even write your resume and print it.
HIV Rapid Testing: 1st Monday of the month. 3:30-5:30
HIV Med Recycle Program: Please mark out the following: name, address, & Doctor Information. Accepts open and unopened bottles. Do not remove: Medication Name, Strength, or expiration date. We do not except narcotics, sleeping medication, or tranquilizers.
Youth Program: We exist for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, gender non-conforming and gender-variant, and straight allies 18 to 24 years old. We are also on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/lighthouseyouthprogram
Our program uses youth empowerment, anti-oppression, youth development, and youth-adult partnership models to create a fun and exciting program for queer youth in Southern Alameda County.
Check out our weekly Drop-in Meetings Thursdays 6 - 7:30 PM. These are both social and supportive meetings. We also have quest speakers twice a month. In addition, we do community service, events, dances, and field trips. Come check us out and see what the buzz is all about!
